Sony dsc w80 review

Sony Cyber shot DSC W80 is an elegant model in a number of cognate compact cameras from a famous manufacturer. Being positioned as a low-cost, easy-to-manage this camera equipped with full range of modern Sony photo technologies(including D-Range Optimization). Essentially, this camera is heiress to models w40 and w50, with major advantage of 7.2 megapixel matrix instead of 6 megapixels, and with the dearth (in our opinion), that the smallest image resolution (except VGA size) images is now 3072 x 2048 pixels, while the predecessors has this of 1632 x 1224. This is a significant drawback for those who assume to use his photos on the Internet. While on the other hand, of course, you can print pictures almost as big as full size posters. Only which an amateur photographer do need this.

Among points of value we should mark large 2.5 inch LCD display, optical viewfinder, 3x zoom lens from Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar (6 elements in 5 groups, 3 aspheric elements), 14x intellectual zoom (Sony Smart Zoom), 9 point auto focus, and the availability of different proprietary technologies. Well recommended itself battery NP-BG1 is present (you have the whole day of almost continuous shooting). The size of the camera is rather slim: 91-58-22,9, weight without accessories is only 124 g.

Quality of the pictures is the main parameter to assess which accounts for the camera. But it is difficult to say something special about the quality of images made by DSC W80. The clarity and color balance range from photo to a photo within medium limits inherent in the W series. Sharp look may distinguish slightly oversaturated colors and the loss of smallest details in some shooting modes. But it must be very sharp look. Weak flash and red eyes effect are among the negative points too. By the way, the camera has a built-in software to eliminate this effect (red eyes) in the saved shots. Points to appreciate are good outdoors portraits and shots in poor light condition.
