Sony DSC Cyber-shot T200 is an 8 megapixel compact digital camera. Its main features are 5x optical zoom lens and an extra large 3.5 inch touch-screen, which allows controlling the camera's functions. Among the standard features of the line, the following should be pointed: image stabilization, face detection possibility, retouching for red eye and HD TV output.
Different independent tests show rather high quality of the images having been taken by this camera in all modes of shooting, usually applied in surveys. The way DSC T200 handles the glare, the sharpness of the shots, detail drawing, brightness and colors remain above average levels even when we use maximum zoom. The quality of flashed images is also very good. The depth of color is surprisingly long (while it may occur, that some images will be lightly noised due to the camera habit to increase automatically the ISO level on condition of the lack of light, despite the flash mode). The feature of red eye suppress also works very well. The shutter lag characteristics of the camera are very high, including work while using flash. (Single shot is about 0.15 seconds, five shots are about 7 seconds and accordingly 0.5 seconds and 12.5 seconds while using flash). Macro shooting mode above all praise. What about the ISO modes, it seems, there is some breakthrough. While the ISO 3200 mode appears to be rather special to be used in practice, the ISO 400 may help to shot very good pictures in poor light conditions.
Like previous models Cyber shot, T200 is equipped with a Li-Ion battery, which allows you to shot, at least, all day throgh (200-270 images). The camera has 31 mb embedded memory (13 full size images). Of course, you have to acquire immediately the memory card of a Memory Stick Duo series (Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo High Speed or Memory Stick PRO HG Duo). Regarding touch-screen display, it is both a merit of the camera and its failing. To some photographer it may seem super-friendly, and to those, who are accustomed to the standard camera management, may seem not. Sony DSC T200-camera is very graceful thing, small in size (59.3 x 93.5 x 20.4mm), and one of the light-weightiest among the pocket sized compacts of Sony (weight: 160 g.) In conclusion: While the quality of digital photos is such a characteristic, which, in objective approach, it is difficult to use for rejecting, or vice versa, for fetching out the camera, various independent tests still accentuate the high quality of the Sony DSC T200 shots. Adding to this the 5x optical zoom lens and the high shutter speed, we can conclude that the T200 really appears to be very successful model.
